So with full bags, and a full stomach following a fish and chip lunch overlookingHaylingIslandbasking in the Spring sunshine, our friend Terry made it through the traffic of the busiest Friday of the year (pre-Easter) to get us to Terminal 3 at Heathrow where we joined the short line for the Qantas flight toPerth. We were intercepted by a young lady offering us unheard of rewards and bonuses should we choose not to fly that day but delay for 24 hours. A choice? Well not really. They had seriously overbooked and they couldn’t guarantee us a seat in any event. This explained the problems we had had trying to check-in on line – which we had not achieved. And so we took the offer and found ourselves in the Crown Plaza Hotel for a free dinner, a luxurious room and a little time to kill….but the promise of an exit seat with ‘LEG –ROOM’ was too good to resist….
And so our arrival is delayed inPerthby 24 hours – but so what…we have a month there…..
Beijing to Bangkok on Voyager, now booked for March next year with Roger and Gaynor.
